My dog caught a squirrel....

Bates caught a squirrel...well not a real squirrel. He just loves his American Kennel Club toys, introduced to him by his Aunt Cathy. They are slightly more durable than regular squeaker toys. His first squirrel lasted nearly a month. So when he finally destroyed it, we got him another one. If you too have a dog who loves squeaky toys, the AKC toys are a good bet. They are a little more expensive, but if you've ever gotten your dog a toy and had it destroyed in less than 5 minutes, you know what I am talking about.

We received about 12 inches of snow at our house from Friday 10AM to early Saturday morning. Now we have about 26 inches on the ground. It was pretty slippery stuff, but pretty. I had a fun experience getting the truck up the hill from the mechanic on Friday afternoon. After attempting a street recommended by the mechanic (it was a bus route), I ended up backing down when I could no longer make any uphill progress. It was then a 40 minute adventure of criss crossing the Hill. I made it home, but got the truck stuck in the driveway. Oh well. Clay, once again, saved the day by blowing the drive and shoveling out the truck.

Everything is so pretty after a snow. The trees are all flocked. Sometimes when I look at all the trees covered in snow, they look fake. Growing up in California, my experience with flocked trees were the ones people got from the Christmas tree lot, and some miniature trees I had for my doll house.

Today is a bright, clear and cold morning, and it's beautiful. We finished cleaning the house by 9:30, the dog's taking a nap, and Clay is raking the roof and shoveling the deck.

Nothing like a good flocking.

Do you have any spring/summer plans?

Maybe Sarah and I can get some time off and come visit you this summer.
